Furniture Donation Pick-Up

Regular Pickup:

  • Your pickups will be scheduled when our truck is in your area. Usually ~ 2 – 4 weeks out. POB cannot fulfill every pickup request.
  • We can only accept furniture we can sell at our store. Please see below for a list.
  • We require that all items are either outside the home or in a garage to be picked up.
  • Items must already be disassembled.
  • No associated cost.
  • We recommend you keep a detailed list of the items that you donate. Donations are tax-deductible to the fullest extent of the law.

Call the Look Again Resale Shop nearest you to see if we are able to pick up the item(s) you wish to donate.

Our furniture donation pick-up area generally includes:

  • Washington, DC
  • Maryland: Montgomery County, Prince George’s County
  • Virginia: Alexandria City, Arlington County, Fairfax County

Please be prepared with the following information: a description of the furniture, photos of the furniture, the pick-up address, and your preferred pick-up date(s).

Donated furniture should be in good condition: clean (free of any stains, tears, and pet damage), not broken, and sellable. We most typically accept the following items:

  • Wooden furniture
  • Leather furniture (must be free of any stains, tears, and pet damage)
  • Sofas (except sleeper sofas)
  • Chairs
  • Dining room and kitchen tables
  • Dressers
  • Coffee tables
  • End tables
  • Entertainment centers
  • Bookshelves

Priority Pickup:

The Prevention of Blindness Society offers a paid 48-hour Priority Donation Pickup Service in collaboration with a local hauling service. This is a fee-based service.

  • Pickups within 48 hours.
  • Any and all items accepted! All eligible items are donated while the remaining items are ethically disposed of.
  • Item retrieval from anywhere including within residence or a storage unit.
  • Disassembly of items that need it (except doors, cabinets, or lighting).
  • Fee reflects the operating costs and is much smaller than a usual moving company or junk hauler fee (fee is not tax-deductible).
  • We recommend you keep a detailed list of the items that you donate. Donations are tax-deductible to the fullest extent of the law.
