Claudia Wood

Director, Community Outreach

Claudia manages POB’s Affordable Eyeglasses Clinic and POB’s Volunteer Program. She leads community outreach efforts, building and sustaining partnerships with local organizations that help expand access to vision care services across the community.

Claudia most recently served as a Patient Services Integration Trainer at MyEyeDr and previously as a Program Director at the Loudoun Literacy Council. Prior to that, she enjoyed a 15-year career in finance. Claudia earned her Bachelor of Science in Business Management from the University of Florida and her Master of Science in Finance from Georgia State University.

In 2002, your organization came to my preschool for a vision screening, and my parents learned that I had amblyopia. If I had not been screened by the Prevention of Blindness Society, I could have become completely blind in my right eye. This would have made some activities that I enjoy, like playing soccer, more difficult. Your screening saved my vision. Thank you for your continued efforts in providing vision care for those in need.
