WASHINGTON, D.C. – Become a part of history! The Prevention of Blindness Society of Metropolitan Washington (POB) is seeking approximately 100 girls to wear historical and contemporary American Girl® fashions during its second annual American Girl Fashion Show at the Bolger Center on Sunday, November 8, at 10 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. Proceeds from the event will benefit and help raise awareness of POB’s Children’s Vision Screening and Children’s Vision and Hearing Clinic programs.
A model search will be held on Sunday, June 14 at the Bolger Center, 9600 Newbridge Drive, Potomac, Md. 20854 from 1 – 3 p.m. Girls with confidence and sparkle will make the show exciting for the audience. More information about model requirements and applications are available here.
“The American Girl Fashion Show is an exciting and educational opportunity for young girls to learn how American girls just like them have used fashion throughout history to express their unique style and personality,” said Michele Hartlove, executive director.
The event program will include a runway fashion show, a seated tea party reception, party favors, and door prizes along with special souvenirs and chances to win dolls and accessories from the various American Girl brands. A photo opportunity with Valerie Tripp, author of the American Girl Felicity®, Josefina®, Kit®, and Molly® series and three of the books in the Samantha® series is also special to the event. Tickets are $50 per person and will go on sale online, by phone or mail on September 21. For more information call (202) 234-1010 or visit www.youreyes.org.
