THERE IS A WAY TO READ THE NEWSPAPER

Reading the newspaper can be difficult or even impossible for a person with a visual impairments, but it does not have to be! The Metropolitan Washington Ear offers a reading service with information collected from the local newspapers and some magazines. This service can be accessed by your telephone or through a closed circuit radio receiver provided by the Metropolitan Washington Ear.

Using a touch-tone phone, specific sections of the newspaper can be selected through a menu option. The radio receiver offers selected readings from the newspaper as well as magazines 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

The service is free, but an application must be completed and processed.

To request an application or to get additional information, call 301-681-6636.
