THERE IS A WAY TO READ THE NEWSPAPER
Reading the newspaper can be difficult or even impossible for a person with a visual impairments, but it does not have to be! The Metropolitan Washington Ear offers a reading service with information collected from the local newspapers and some magazines. This service can be accessed by your telephone or through a closed circuit radio receiver provided by the Metropolitan Washington Ear.
Using a touch-tone phone, specific sections of the newspaper can be selected through a menu option. The radio receiver offers selected readings from the newspaper as well as magazines 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
The service is free, but an application must be completed and processed.
