Protect Your Eyes When
Jump-Starting Your Car
Thousands of eye
injuries occur each year as a result of battery fragments and corrosive acid
from exploding batteries. Explosions causing eye injuries may occur from a
number of common errors including the use of matches or cigarette lighters for
illumination; incorrect connection of jumper cables; sparks from the careless
use of tools around the battery; and smoking while working around the battery.
